Mens Watches

Mens watches did not become popular until after World War One. Up until then, men used pocket watches and considered wrist watches to be a "ladies watch".

However, several watch manufacturers provided officers and other military men with wrist watches during the First World War and they were readily accepted because of their practical utility - in the heat of battle it was much safer and quicker to simply glance at your wrist to get the time rather than have to dig in a pocket for your watch while holding your gun!
